Purpose:

To advance the rehabilitation of all individuals with disabilities and the profession of rehabilitation counseling by:

  1. Identifying the needs of individuals with disabilities and disorders and supporting social and health care policies that enhance the delivery of rehabilitation services to this population.
  2. Advancing the profession of rehabilitation counseling by promoting professional preparation standards; promoting ethical and responsible professional practice; conducting continuing education programs; promoting research; publishing professional literature; conducting professional meetings; supporting legislation that is compatible with the association goals and tax status; and engaging in such other activities as may be necessary to accomplish the goals and mission of PARC, including unifying the rehabilitation counseling profession by incorporating the specialty areas as divisions within PARC.
